PE and Sport Premium

Government departments provided every primary school with ring-fenced funding to develop PE, Sport and Health.

At Headlands sporting provision takes high priority; we encourage all pupils to appreciate the benefits of being active and healthy. PE lessons are aimed at teaching pupils the fundamentals skills of movement, progressing to specific sports based skills and the ethics of teamwork. In addition to this. a range of extra-curricular clubs run at different times of the year; these have included football, multi-skills, dance, yoga and tennis.

Through the use of PE and Sport Premium we aim to:

  • Encourage maximum participation in physical activity and deliver health programmes to improve the wellbeing of our children.

  • Increase the amount of competitive sport in which our children participate.

  • Develop links to community sports clubs and providers.

  • Promote leadership skills through sport and provide pathways for both talented children and those with special needs in sport.
