As in previous years, we are holding an exciting competition in school to coincide with the Friends of Headlands Easter Extravaganza on Monday 26 March 2018. We want to give you plenty of notice for this because we recognise that your child may wish to begin working on their entry during the half term holiday.

Pupils in EYFS and KS1 are invited to get creative to design and make a 2D or 3D Spring creation. They could use any art materials that they desire! They may require some assistance from an adult but the finished creation should mostly be their own.

Pupils in KS2 are encouraged to get inventive outdoors with a camera to capture a ‘Spring-tastic Selfie or Scene’. One photograph per child can be entered. When printed out, photographs should be no larger than 5×7 inches. Many supermarkets and web-based companies offer good quality printing services if you don’t have the resources to do this at home. Children must have taken the photo themselves.

Children’s photos should represent their idea of what Springtime means.

All Easter competition entries must be clearly labelled with your child’s name and class and handed to class teachers on Monday 26 March. Entries will be judged by school staff and proudly displayed in the hall for families to look at from 3.15pm onwards.

This year, Friends of Headlands are kindly donating some fantastic prizes. One runner up prize (a delicious Easter egg) will be awarded to a child in each class. An overall winner will then be chosen from each Key Stage. An amazing art set will be awarded to the 1st prize winner in EYFS/KS1 and the 1st prize winner in KS2 will be presented with their very own camera!

We hope to receive as many entries as possible this year so please support us in encouraging your child to take part.

They’ve got to be in it to win it!
