Dear Parents/Carers,

We are writing to you to share further information regarding Remote Learning during the enforced school closure period. Our aim will be to provide learning opportunities and support that reflects the learning that would have taken place in the classroom. We recognise that the school closure may present difficulties for many families. However, it is vital that all children continue with their learning using the tasks that we provide for their personal development. We understand that remote learning is not ideal and we appreciate your support.

The interactive remote learning experience for pupils staying at home will begin on Wednesday 6 January. Teachers will upload pre-recorded video lessons to Microsoft Teams for pupils to access. In Years 1-6, there will also be additional follow up tasks/quizzes for pupils to complete and submit to their teachers for feedback and marking. In EYFS, there will be practical follow up tasks for the pupils to complete. These tasks will be explained at the end of each pre-recorded video. Parents of pupils in EYFS will also be able to begin submitting observations of the practical activities set via the ‘Evidence Me’ APP. Teachers will regularly check these and offer some feedback. We will contact parents of new Nursery pupils in the next few days with advice regarding how to access and set up these online learning platforms.

Please be aware that the remote live teaching sessions for pupils working at home will not begin until Monday 11 January. Towards the end of this week, we will inform you of the specific timings for the live online teaching sessions for the following week. We will try to stagger some of these sessions to take into consideration siblings who may be sharing electronic devices. However, as there will be live sessions taking place within all year groups, it will not always be possible to ensure that the timings of these do not clash. All live teaching sessions will be recorded so that pupils can access them at a more convenient time if necessary.

If your child is in KS2, you are entitled to some support regarding IT devices. If your child does not have access to an electronic device such as a laptop or desktop computer we may be able to request a loan device for them (although demand for these will have risen significantly and they may be in short supply). Pupils who already loaned devices from us before the holiday may keep these for the duration of the school closure period unless they are no longer required. We will be sending a text home to all parents of KS2 pupils today about electronic devices. Please respond promptly to this text if you require us to request a loan device for your child. Please note, that all loan devices must be returned by pupils when school reopens.

Before your child begins to engage in any remote learning via Microsoft Teams, please remind them of the pupil protocols for remote learning. We sent these home to all parents during the Autumn Term along with a user guide for Microsoft Teams and the user guide for the Evidence Me APP for pupils in EYFS. Copies of these documents can also be found alongside this letter on our website.

In addition to the tasks set on Microsoft Teams, children could continue to read their school library books and practice mathematical skills using sites such as TTRockstars and MyMaths. The general resources section of our learning site is also still live for your child to access at
You may also like to know that Joe Wicks has also pledged to begin live PE sessions for children from Monday 11th January via his YouTube channel. We believe he is going to deliver 3 live sessions per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:00am.

If you or your child have any questions about the work set online during the closure period, you should post these questions publicly within the chat function on Microsoft Teams. Please be aware that anything posted on Microsoft Teams can be viewed by all parents/pupils. The teachers can be contacted privately regarding other matters during school hours via the email addresses listed below;

Teachers will endeavour to reply within the same day but this may not always be possible. Your patience and understanding with this is much appreciated.

Thank you in advance. We send our best wishes to all families associated with our school in the hope that you stay safe and healthy in the weeks to come.
