Following our recent Ofsted Inspection we are delighted to be able to share with you the latest report: Ofsted Report 2015

You will see from the report that the school has been judged as GOOD in all areas. This is a significant improvement on the judgement received previously and is a testament to the hard work and dedication shown by everyone associated with the school.

It is particularly pleasing that the inspection grades agreed with our own self evaluation judgements. Therefore we feel that the report provides an accurate picture of the school’s excellent provision and recent achievements.

Leadership and Management are judged as good, reflecting our relentless determination to continually improve the quality of teaching and raise standards.

We are thrilled that the school is described as ‘thriving’ and that ‘there has been significant improvements in pupils’ achievement’. The inspectors recognised that ‘the management of teaching has been a particular strength of leadership’ and this has resulted in teaching being described as ‘securely good and at times outstanding’ with pupils being ‘challenged well in lessons’.

You will be aware that we have achieved our best ever results in recent years and now ‘good proportions of pupils are working at the highest level in reading, writing and mathematics’.

Many of you have commented on the recent improvements in Foundation Stage and again the inspectors recognised this fantastic achievement by describing assessment in Foundation Stage as ‘a strength of provision and is now a model for other schools’, with ‘good use being made of the outdoor learning area for children to explore their surroundings and solve problems through play’.

The inspection team commented that it had been a pleasure to be in the school and made particular reference during discussions to the lovely atmosphere, good organisation and professionalism, the excellent learning attitudes shown by the children, the quality and presentation of pupils’ work and the high expectations demonstrated by staff, pupils and governors.

This report is a fantastic achievement for all connected with the school. We are blessed with a great team of teachers, support staff, leadership and the most amazing children. We are thankful to all parents and carers who support our fantastic school and work with us to continually support children and to achieve their potential.

We are of course delighted with the result and it clearly shows that strong leadership, dedicated and focused governance and high standards of teaching all contribute to enabling your children to fulfil their potential at Headlands.

We will continue to strive to develop the school further and know that with your continued support we will achieve our aim of providing outstanding education for all our pupils.
