We would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to you for your patience and continued support during what has been a very challenging week. We recognise that for many people, including us, this has been a very upsetting and worrying time. We are incredibly proud of the children at Headlands for the way in which they have continued to demonstrate resilience and care for each other.
From 3.15pm today, school is closed to the majority of pupils and families. Those who are eligible for a place in the coming weeks have been informed via a separate letter or telephone call. As mentioned in yesterday’s letter, we understand that there are some pupils who will fall into the keyworker category who are currently self-isolating with their families. We would like to remind these families to get in touch with the school office when your period of self-isolation comes to an end so that a decision can be made regarding your child’s eligibility to re-attend school in the coming weeks. Please do not just turn up at school with your child at the end of your isolation period.
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that the online learning resources will be available to all those pupils who are not in school from Monday 23 March. Pupils and parents can access these resources at the following address:
It is likely that many of the learning resources for each week will be displayed until the following Monday and then archived and replaced by new resources.
We recognise that today may well have been the last day in school for many of our Year 6 pupils. We sincerely hope that this is not the case but if it turns out that this enforced closure lasts until July, we would like to take this opportunity to wish them lots of success for the future.
Please know that we are all hoping that school life returns to normal again very soon and that we have the opportunity to welcome all children and families back before the end of this academic year. In the meantime, we send our best wishes to you and your families on behalf of all of the staff and governors at Headlands.
