We are writing to you to share further information regarding the closure of Reception Class Bubble. As of today, Monday 12th October 2020 a child in the Reception Bubble received a positive COVID 19 test result. Therefore, following government guidance, each staff and child member of the Reception Bubble must self-isolate for 14 days from today. This means that all staff and children in the Reception Bubble should not leave their house or garden for 14 days. You do not need to arrange a test for your own child unless they begin to display symptoms. During the isolation period, if your child develops symptoms and tests positive for Coronavirus, please inform school. Staff and children in the Reception Bubble will return to school after the half term holiday on Monday 2nd November.
Due to current circumstances Reception Parents evening will be postponed until after the half term holidays. We will let you know when this has been re-arranged.
Our aim will be to provide learning opportunities and support that reflects our learning in the classroom. We also recognise that a bubble closure could present difficulties for many families. However, it is vital that all children continue with their learning using the tasks that we have provided for their personal development. We understand that home learning is not ideal and we appreciate your support. We will be providing tasks for the next two weeks and recommend that you and your child work through these at your own pace, when able. Staff have set home learning tasks for the pupils to complete via the following website and pupils will be provided with a work book to complete these in. If your child has a sibling these books will be sent home with their brother or sister this week. If your child does not have a sibling in school, a text will be sent out with further instructions for collection.
We are currently in the process of uploading the videos/content that you will require so will aim to have the website below live within the next 24-48 hours.
Mrs Chappelhow and Miss Carter have provided a covering letter uploaded onto the home learning site for you to read which explains the activities set out. These activities are for two weeks and cover Literacy and Phonics, Maths and Topic. The tasks are labelled in order. They have also provided a timetable which shows what they usually try to cover in a week. If you or your child have any questions about the work set or would like some feedback, the EYFS teachers can be contacted during school hours via the email addresses listed below;
We send our best wishes to all families associated with our school in the hope that you stay safe and healthy in the weeks to come.
